“Deck the halls with boughs of holly, Fa la la la la, la la la la!”

‘Tis the season to celebrate and spend quality time with your loved ones, which also means it’s time to start decorating your Christmas tree and your lovely home. White cement from JK Cement is so versatile you can make handcrafted ornaments to suit your theme for your Christmas tree and other decor items.

With our hectic schedules and busy lives, Christmas activities would be the perfect way to get the whole family to create memories. Handmade decorations are always special, and JKC’s WhiteMaxX White Portland Cement can be your buddy this season, allowing you to make a zillion different things. With the help of standard concrete pieces, you can create aesthetically pleasing home decor that will transform your living room into a winter wonderland this year.

The best thing about JKC’s White Cement is that you can reuse these homemade ornaments, and they are also pet and environmentally friendly.

Undoubtedly, the tree is the star of the Christmas show! And to make your Christmas extra special and creative, use these ornaments made with JKC’s White Cement.

Let’s begin!

Things you need :

  1. JKC’s WhiteMaxX White Portland Cement
  2. Cookie cutters
  3. Disposable cup/bowl
  4. Rolling pin
  5. Toothpick
  6. Scissors
  7. Spray paint
  8. Butter knife
  9. Toothpick
  10. Paddle wire in your favourite Christmas colour (red or green)

Safety first: Work outside or in an open space. This material emits fine dust that may irritate our eyes and nose. A mask and eye protection are advised.

Step 1. Add your white cement mix to a bowl based on the number of ornaments you want to make. For example, one cup of the mix can make up to 20. To make a lump-free, perfect mixture, follow the instructions on the package. And remember, the cement should have the consistency of soft cookie dough.

WhiteMaxX White Portland Cement from JK Cement delivers your finished product with a brilliant white and a smooth matte surface, making your work easier and prettier.

Step 2. Now just like you make a cookie, first form the cement into a dough and place it on your smooth workspace. Roll the ball using the rolling pin to flatten it the same way you would a cookie depending on the thickness you want for your ornaments. Keep it to no more than ¼” thick.

Step 3. Take your cookie cutter and place it on the dough (white cement), use your toothpick to make a hole in the centre and keep it for an hour before you demould them. Remove the cookie cutter and sand the cement burrs off the corners and edges. To get rid of the fine cement dust, you might also wish to rinse them off (but not in a sink).

Step 4. Paint your ornaments with bright colours and glitters to add festive hues.

Step 5. Insert the wire through the white cement ornament, leaving an inch tail and tying a knot. You’ll need this length to hang it from your Christmas tree. Do the same with the rest of the ornaments, and then voila, you are ready to hang these adorable little white cement ornaments!

A Handsome Concrete Snowman

Step 1. Prepare your dough the same way you did for your tree ornaments using JKC’s White Cement. Roll two balls, one smaller than the other.

Step 2. Create a shawl, hat, nose and hands for your snowman. Place the smaller ball on top of the bigger one to make the face and body of the snowman. Roll a dough ball for the shawl and place it around its neck. Craft a small cute pointy nose and stick it on its face and a hat to place on its head.

Step 3. Once you are done with all these accessories, let it sit for a while, and then go crazy with your paintbrush. Colour the shawl red and the hat black. Use your creativity, and make eyes and a lip on your snowman’s face so it looks adorable.

Tip : You can make a larger snowman to keep outside your house or a smaller one to decorate your living room table.

With Christmas right around the corner, we all are looking for gifts for our loved ones. How about a handmade candle holder for tealights? It is thoughtful and beautiful, and the process can be enjoyable to make.

Concrete Candle Holder

This specific candle holder design is remarkably adaptable for home decoration because it can transform into an “any time of year” candle. You must be wondering if candles can be ignited on concrete. Candles can be safely lit on the material. However, it’s crucial to remember that some varieties of concrete cement might break when exposed to extreme heat. A candle, on the other hand, rarely produces enough heat to cause cracking.

Things you need :

  1. Airtight zipper
  2. JKC White Cement
  3. Tea lights
  4. Masking tape

Step 1. Put the cement mixture into an airtight plastic zipper. Once the cement has completely taken the shape of the zipper, which should resemble a pillow, seal the zipper.

Step 2. Place a tea light in the centre, secure it with masking tape, and leave it overnight.

Step 3. Tear off the plastic from the tea light and untape it the following morning. Use metallic hues like gold, silver, or copper to give your exquisite pillow tea light holder some glitz.

Easy? Isn’t it? And so much fun! If your excitement doesn’t end here, you can make coasters, cement planters, and concrete vases, among other things. Let your creativity bring an extra dose of holiday joy to your home decor. Moreover, your made-with-love masterpieces are absolutely reusable. You could renew them with fresh colours, textures and embellishments to ensure they reflect with your refreshed home decor every season.

This holiday season, you deserve to have the perfect setting in your home to invoke  the festive spirit. Wrap up this Christmas with a tidy little bow as December sprints to the finish line, and keep it chic while remaining grounded in customs and tradition.

Are you all set to ring in the holiday season with happiness, love, and perhaps even Santa Claus?
