JK Super Strong Weather Shield Cement is a water repellent cement having an integral water repellent property at the cement particle level manufactured through a technology developed in-house. This Cement manufactured with WRA exhibits resistance to penetration of water in mortar, plaster & concrete. This property is incorporated by modifying the particle size distribution and fineness of cement through an innovative technique. It significantly reduces water permeation to concrete or mortar, which results in dry walls and healthy indoor climate.
We all know that there are so many factors and forces which causes threat to beauty and durability of any house or building. It may be fire, flood, chemicals etc.
But one factor Water seepage or ingress of water causes damage to a building every day, every hour, every minute and even every second and it continues to destroy the integrity of building until it is not stopped successfully.
JKSSWS has been made to effectively fill tiny holes in the concrete, break the interconnectivity of capillaries, refining them further and better repel water.
JKSSWS is the specially made cement which has great advantage of early as well as lateral strength. The strength parameters at all ages are almost 15-20% higher compared to normal cements.
JKSSWS is surpassing strength parameters of OPC 53 G & additionally having sufficient dosage of reactive silica, it offers the strength gain beyond 28 days, in a nutshell, this is ideal cement to meet early strength requirement as well as 28days. The concrete produced with the help of JKSSWS will be High Performance Concrete.
Technically, JKSSWS is an all Application- All Purpose cement which fulfils requirements of Fresh Concrete as well as Hardened Concrete.
Similar is the case with mortar application. One can use JKSSWS for internal & external plastering to have strong plaster. The masonry built in right proportion with JKSSWS will be also stronger.
1) Mixing: JKSSWS cement is having controlled dosage of reactive silica as well as WRA. The cement is usually finer than normal cement so as to have intimate mixing of reactive silica & WRA with cement.
Ideally, it is advisable to make dry mortar of JKSSWS & Sand which should be mixed thoroughly & after that desired amount of water should be added. This will enhance water repelling property of JKSSWS.
Similarly concrete also should be made by mixing dry mortar & coarse aggregates & there after desired water should be added.
2) Curing: To maximize benefits of using JKSSWS, one should start curing immediately, once the concrete or mortar is set. This will help to form early strength & water repellent property. The curing period is same like normal cement i.e for 7-10 days.
The mortar/concrete should be used within 1 hours of its preparation after addition of water. The Mixing should be done mechanically by mixer machine rather than manual mixing to have better performance.
Water – Cement ratio is not directly related to Type of cement. It depends on concrete grade, workability requirement, exposure conditions, & weather conditions. Hence simple answer is water requirement in JKSSWS would be similar to any other cements.
JKSSWS has excellent water repellent property but it doesn’t mean that it does not react with water however mixing time needs to be increased slightly & it is recommended to make thorough dry mixing of cement & aggregates prior to addition of water. This will ensure uniform dispersion of WRA & will help to have better water repelling effect.
No, JKSSWS continues to retain its water-repelling properties.
JKSSWS is the cement with high strength at 1 day, hence to get the maximum benefits of JKSSWS, one should start curing immediately, once the concrete or plaster is set properly. Light sprinkling on slab or plaster will enhance early reaction of JKSSWS with other ingredients & bonding would be stronger. It’s observed that, if curing is started after 6-8 hours, the concrete will give you extra strength of almost 15-20%.
Technically yes only if you do design mix concrete. Higher the grade of Concrete, more will be Saving in Cement contents.
But for volumetric proportioning, saving in cement content is not recommended. It’s always good to have stronger slab rather saving few bags of cement. Because slab is most important element in structure, where strength must not be compromised.
Shelf life of cement depends on storage condition. Better the storage facility, longer will be shelf life. Customer must ensure storage of cement in dry place in a room. JKSSWS shelf-life is better because of its special BOPP Packing material.
The early removal of formwork is solely depending on concrete strength gain at specified period. So if concrete gains more than 67% strength, one can remove shuttering as per guidelines mentioned in IS 456 (Clause No. 11.3.1).
Since JKSSWS has early high strength gain property, it is possible to attain desired strength in concrete in shorter time span & subsequently, one can remove shuttering faster compare to normal cement.
The compatibility test should be carried out prior to selection of any admixture. Generally, JKSSWS is compatible with all the leading brands of Admixtures.
We @ JK Cement Ltd. are committed to offer quality on-site services & solutions to our esteemed customers, so yes.. if advance intimation is given to our CTS engineer, he shall guide customers to adopt correct construction practices & if need be, he can also offer tailor made solutions as per need of customers.
JKSSWS is our premium quality cement, hence our CTS engineer will offer demonstration on demand & train mason/ contractor for right methodology & practices.
JKSSWS comes with a special BOPP Packaging which is more environment friendly and ensure protection against moisture penetration in the bag. Hence cement packed in BOPP would have better shelf life compare to HDPE packing.
Further, BOPP packing is Pilferage -Proof, hence cement doesn’t pilfer during transit.
However, BOPP packing has to be handled carefully & one should never apply hooks while in transit, otherwise it can burst out & cement packed with in is wasted.
